Even More Motor Sports for KTM X-Bow Owners
THE „HILL CLIMB TROPHY“ INVITES TO RACE TO THE TOP!

To race on a closed mountain road in your X-BOW at speeds of up to 200km/h in front of 30,000 excited spectators, among meadows and forests, right at the limit, just centimetres away from the road’s edge, to be cheered by the crowd along the track on the way back – just a wonderful dream? Mountain races belong to the most spectacular and certainly to the most challenging motor sports events worldwide. Not to mention their great tradition. After all the first motoring events were carried out on closed, curvy mountain roads long before the first permanent race tracks came to be. So what would be more obvious than to start there with the X-Bow?

Precious little, Dominik Olbert and Sigi Buchegger think. Because like hardly any other car of our times the X-BOW stands for a return to the basics, to something that constitutes a true super sports car: Uncompromising high-end technology tested in motor racing, consequent weight reduction, Spartan interior with full focus on the driver. All of them virtues, which have also marked those pioneers, who took on the first races around a 100 years ago! “olbert sports” brings together history and the present with the „KTM X-BOW HILL CLIMB TROPHY“, first taking place in 2010, and at the same time fulfils the dream of mountain racing for all interested X-BOW customers – after the  „KTM X-BOW Battle“, which is focussed on track racing there is now the next line of action for all petrol heads with orange blood flowing through their veins: Affordable motor sports in an entire new dimension in front of a breath-taking backdrop!

In line with the „Österreichischen Automobil-Bergrennsport-Meisterschaft“ (Austrian Automobile Mountain Racing Championship) – with official OSK-rating  –  in a separate X-BOW class there will be three qualifying sessions and two races each, held over six racing weekends. The X-BOW customers can compete for a stable trophy, which sees – by way of the OSK-rating – a real national hill climb champion nominated at the end of the year! Participation is possible in every X-BOW model (not required to be street-legal), however a fire extinguisher and the FIA safety equipment for the driver (helmet, HANS, NOMEX-clothing, etc.) are regulation. The four best races will be evaluated (to minimize time expenditure); points are awarded based on Formula 1. Furthermore there will be trophy money of at least 6,500.- Euro.

Exclusively for all competitors in the „KTM X-BOW HILL CLIMB TROPHY“ there will be a personal assistance on location, including instructors, mechanics, video analysis, hospitality package and much more. The price for this package, which trades under the name ‘Racing Service’: 290,- Euro per racing weekend! And for all those who cannot call a X-BOW their own there will be an „Arrive and Drive“ package, including a ready-to-race hire-X-BOW and all benefits of the “Racing Service“ packages for only 1,990.- Euro per racing weekend!
