KTM X-BOW 2009
International Racing Success for KTM
1st AND 2nd PLACE AT THE BRITISH GT CHAMPIONSHIP!
TOP RESULTS AT THE DUTCH SUPERCAR CHALLENGE!

In exactly two weeks time the KTM X-BOW Battle heralds the launch of the first brand trophy series of the Austrian super sports car – however, several private teams are currently successfully competing internationally. In Great Britain where AGB Motorsport deploys a KTM X-BOW the first victory was already in the bag during the first racing weekend, and at the Dutch Supercar Challenge there was still a spot on the podium straight away.

British GT Championship:
Oulton Park, one of the many traditional race tracks in Great Britain was the stage for the first racing weekend of the British GT Championship. And already after the training it was clear that with Benjamin Harvey and Rory Butcher there were two young and extremely fast pilots at the wheel of the KTM X-BOW of Prestige Car Leasing/ABG Motorsport. Even though Ginetta pilot Christian Dick was clearly at the front during the first run he was caught up and even overtaken by Butcher at the end of the race. After a small mistake the KTM duo ‘only’ landed in second position. The second race, however, saw a clear start-finish-victory with an impressive 20-second lead for the combination Butcher/Harvey. Rory Butcher was satisfied when he summed up at the finish line: „I had a great start and during the driver change I could hand over the car to Ben with a big lead, and he then drove the second part of the race equally well. Altogether it was perfect team work!“ In the overall standing the two KTM XBOW pilots are now in the lead, likewise with the driver combination of the Ginetta.

Dutch Supercar Challenge:
Ex-KTM works driver Dennis Retera is still true to the X-BOW: He starts together with Piet Versluis in the Dutch Supercar Challenge, the season’s start for this took place at Silverstone. Typical island weather turned the training into a glissade and it did not look any better during both the races. It already started to rain during the warm-up lap of first run (with Piet Versluis at the wheel). An early pit stop paid off and the first podium spot seemed to be in reach already in the initial race. However, in the very busy field there was ‚only’ a fourth place in the end. The second race saw Dennis Retera competing, with a lot of luck he escaped a heavy collision at the start. After the necessary new start the young Dutchman could edge up to third place relatively quickly, but fell back afterwards. But Retera fought back with a hard-as-bone duel (which ended with tire damage for his opponent’s Porsche) and managed to drive onto the first podium spot of the season: „A good first racing weekend. We will now improve some things on the car and then we can drive right up to the front!“
